At Tandem Social, we are a non-profit social initiative workers’ cooperative committed to driving economic, social, environmental, educational, and cultural transformation. Since 2011, we have combined talent, knowledge, social and business expertise, and collective effort to provide high-quality strategic consulting services that generate meaningful and lasting change for the organizations we work with. Guided by cooperative principles and collective ownership and governance, we offer our services with the sole purpose of strengthening and growing the social and solidarity economy, as well as the social, environmental, and education sectors. Our commitment to transformation extends from the local level to the national, European, and international arenas.
At Tandem Social, we firmly believe that every child and young person has tremendous potential and represents an invaluable asset to both present and future society.
We are committed to promoting child safeguarding, protecting children’s rights, and fostering a culture of respect for human rights. Recognizing that safeguarding children is a shared responsibility, we acknowledge and embrace our role in ensuring the well-being of all children and young people involved in the projects with which our cooperative collaborates.
We respect and uphold the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), adopted in 1989, as the international legal framework that establishes the rights of children.
This Child Safeguarding Policy reflects Tandem Social’s commitment to ensuring that all children and young people involved in the projects we support are protected. To achieve this, our organization is guided by the following core principles when working with children and young people:
- Treat every child with respect, recognizing their dignity, listening to them, and valuing their views.
- Promote autonomy in accordance with each child’s stage of development.
- Safeguard their safety, well-being, privacy, and personal integrity.
- Promote equity while respecting diversity and inclusion.
- Encourage constructive conflict management and resolution.
- Foster ethical and professional conduct among all members of our team.
- Share this policy and the good practices derived from it with employees and all relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure that all employees comply with the requirements of this policy by providing appropriate supervision, support, training, and any resources necessary to uphold these commitments.
